Consulting

Atoms Consulting, LLC

I am a physics education researcher by training with a focus on assessment. This training is complemented by 15 years of college level teaching experience working with a range of populations including physics majors, life-science majors, both elementary and secondary pre-service teachers, as well as practicing K-12 science teachers. My experience situates me well to support both qualitative and quantitative research efforts, curriculum design and project evaluation.

My areas of specialization include:

  • Development and Validation of Assessment instruments
  • Measurement of the effectiveness of educational initiatives including course revision.
  • Support for faculty and researchers in design and dissemination of projects
  • Curriculum development that attends to evidence-based practices such as active-learning, backwards design, and student engagement.
  • Design and evaluation of recruitment efforts for secondary STEM teacher candidates.
  • Delivery of faculty and K-12 science teacher professional development workshops.
As a physicist, teacher, and education researcher, I can provide quality work on a wide variety of STEM educational projects.
