Science 225 – Writing on Scientific and Engineering Practices

(aka Science 465)

Writing on Scientific and Engineering Practices was developed in 2016 to address the scientific and engineering practices defined by NGSS – The Next Generation Science Standards.  The course has its roots in SCI 465 – Principles of Scientific Inquiry, which had a long and successful history here at UNC teaching pre-service elementary teachers about what it means to do science.

This new course uses writing as a vehicle to understand what it means to do science and engineering and is aimed towards both elementary and secondary pre service teachers.  It is also very appropriate for any major interested in both understanding the nature of science and improving their writing skills.
